Types of capital release schemes

Money: Mortgages

There are two main types of stock release schemes in operation in the UK.

These fall under the following general parentheses:

1) life loans: these are regulated by the FSA (authority for financial services)

2) home return plans: these are not currently regulated by the government or the authorities

Home recycling is the less popular of the two methods that people use to release some of the value that is “locked” or stored in their home, but the said home recycling has always had a large number of subscribers and advocates as well.

The articles on home repayment programs and mortgages explain in more detail what each of these systems entails and the differences between them.
