Cross-linked polyethylene (PEX) is a form of pipelines that increased in popularity in the 21st century. Until then, copper pipes had largely been the chosen pipe system. But when your old copper pipes start to be replaced, you can replace parts of your old piping with PEX – or completely redone the system. To replace your copper pipe with PEX, you must open the walls.
The day back, by replacing part of the pipeline, you meant that you had to pull out a torch and weld copper pipe together. Thankfully, PEX is much easier to work with and is significantly more DIY-friendly. PEX uses a crimping ring and a crimping tool for contacts or push-to-fit connections. Make sure you have all your PEX and connections ready to go before you start to down the page.
Pipe Problem Solutions
When you encounter a problem with your copper pipe, you can take one of three methods: First, you can scratch your entire home with PEX (disconnect and pass the current copper pipe ̵
Replacing a pipe  Turn off the water source
After identifying the source of the problem, turn off the water your home. This will require some planning on your part, so make sure you do not have to run the dishwasher or that a family member does not shower before turning the wheel. Although there will still be standing water in your pipes, there will be a small amount in contrast to the flood that would drive your home if you cut a pipe without turning off the water.
Take a copper cutter and cut both ends of the section of pipe you want to replace. PEX is available in standard 10-foot sections, so do not cut a section further than you can replace. If you cut a vertical section of the pipeline, you must support the remaining pipelines above to prevent it from crumbling or falling down the wall. You can do this by securing it with a string or thread – or by letting someone else hold it.
If the section you cut has branch lines, you must also break them. You may need a wrench to do so.
You need to make sure the edges of the old copper pipes are perfectly smooth to prevent problems. Use a deburring tool to even out the edges before attempting to test the PEX pipeline in place.
Replace with PEX
Then replace the section with your PEX tube. Cut the tube just a little longer to allow for flex. Use a push-fit straight connector to connect the copper end to the new PEX pipeline. Make sure the new pipe section is firmly seated in the connector and then repeat at the other end. If the old part of copper that is connected to a delivery line, you need to connect the new PEX pipes now. Cut off the PEX tube with a hose mower and then use a t-luminaire to connect to the new line. If you want to replace more than the leaking part of the pipe, it would be time to do so.
When making your new tubes, be careful and careful. It is important to watch out for electrical wiring and walk slowly so that you do not make a mistake. Replacing your piping can be daunting, but once you have taken care of it you will be the PEX master.
