When the glue is dry you can see what it looks like already promising. When the excess glue is sanded away it will look even better!
I used an orbital grinder to speed up the grinding process.
There is a picture of what it looks like without any finish. As you can see. The only "noticeable" part of this process is where the grain is originally cut. The side of the cut blends in perfectly as it is a perfect grain match.
There is also a picture of what it looks like with an applied finish. The cut line is really not noticeable personally and especially not far away. I think this technique is the easiest method to hide a screw and it is definitely the nicest method! Give it one more time the next time you get stuck and need to hide a screw, nail or something for that matter.
