Oculus Sensor Stand Flexible extension: 7 steps

At the end of last year, I upgraded the monitors on my computer to two pretty nice 27 "2K Dells. The only problem with them is that I don't have enough right enough space for the sensors in my Oculus Rift , they do not seem to be as wide as they are in relation to my seat, so for years I had been thinking about brackets or shelves or something to put on the sensor stand.

Then I had a little bit of epiphany. 3D Printer for the Sensor and began to notice that the stand was actually screwed off by the sensor with a 1/4 "threaded hole in the short rod attached to the sensor and a 1/4" man thread on the rod that is part of the stand.

For a few years ago I had bought some cheap flexible coolant hoses after seeing an instructor to make a soldering aid from them, so maybe I could make a new place out of them, Gorillapod style.

I dug them out and spent a little more time lookingin g at the sensor and its stand. And I dug out the little bag with 1

/4 "to 3/8" wire adapters that I had to use a field recorder on a genuine Gorilla pod and had a thought. And that was when I realized that I didn't have to make a whole new stand, I could extend the original one. So I bought a bag with different 1/4 "to 3/8" adapter parts, and when they arrived we found a configuration that would allow me to connect the coolant pipette to the stand.

And when I tried to make one, the height was absolutely perfect; The stands can sit on the same shelves as the displays, just behind them, and the sensors are now high enough to "see" the screens.

  • Parts

    • 2 or more oculus sensors and original frame
    • 1 x flexible cooling water / coolant tube per piece of sensor (min is about 29cm long)
    • 1 x 1/4 "to 3 / 8 "reduction screw per sensor (they are a 3/8" screw with a 1/4
