How to use your Mac keyboard as a Bluetooth keyboard for other devices – easy help

This wizard takes you step by step using your Mac keyboard to type on another device.

With a great little app called Typeedo, you can use your Mac keyboard to control other devices – such as an iPhone or iPad, Android phone or tablet, an Apple TV, a Windows PC – even a gaming system . As long as your device supports Bluetooth, you're good to go.

Typeedo can be used without restriction for seven days before you will need to buy it, so if you are not satisfied with it, you can simply remove it and continue. After 7 days, it will cost $ 7.99 in the Mac App Store. If you buy Typeedo via the link in the trial version, it costs $ 13.96. According to a company representative, this is the intended behavior, even though both versions are identical (it makes no sense to me either). So if you decide to buy Typeedo, save a few bucks and buy it in the Mac App Store.

Let's get started! Go to the Typeeto website and download the 7 day free trial. When the download is complete, open the .dmg file and drag the app to your Applications folder to install it. Now just follow the instructions for iOS (iPhones and iPads), Android phones and tablets or "others" (Windows, gaming devices, media center, etc.).

  3. The Typeeto Settings window opens automatically.
  4. Switch to your iPhone / iPad and select the Settings button.
  5. Select Bluetooth from the list of options.

Use your Mac's keyboard to control miscellaneous. Bluetooth Devices

To connect your other devices (Apple TV, a Windows computer, gaming system, etc.) to your Mac's keyboard, you generally open these devices and ensure that Bluetooth is enabled and enabled. Do the same with your Mac. Start connecting from your device to your Mac rather than the other way around.

Your Mac may be listed as a "keyboard" rather than a Mac when the other device searches for it.

You may be asked to enter a PIN code and not just confirm that two are identical.

For additional support, see the Typeeto Help / User Guide or contact their support team.
