Every time your Mac connects to a Windows computer, it leaves something behind – a .DS_Store file. This very short guide shows you how to stop it from happening.
- Open a Terminal by navigating to Applications -> Utilities -> terminal . Copy and paste the command shown below into your terminal and press enter.
by default, com.apple.desktopservices writes DSDontWriteNetworkStores true
- Now just log out of your Mac and restart (or restart your Mac). From now on when you connect to Windows devices, you do not leave a .DS_Store file behind 🙂
- That's it!
