To open a champagne bottle with a sword, start by finding an open space where you can safely send the cork flying off the bottle. Then remove the foil and wire basket over the cork and hold the bottle at a 30-degree angle with one of the seams on the glass facing up. Then, with the thumb in the recess at the bottom of the bottle, you rest the blade of the sword on the neck of the bottle. Finally, slide the blade from the bottom of the bottle up to the ring at the top to break the top of the bottle and send the cork flying.
