To make a classic old-fashioned start by pouring 2 ounces, which is 60 ml, of bourbon whiskey into a glass. Then add 1/4 of an ounce or 7.5 ml of single syrup. If you want to make your own simple syrup, just cook equal portions of water and sugar until you can't see the sugar crystals anymore. Then add 2 dashes of Angostura bitter to your glass, but you can also use orange bitter in a pinch. Finish with a handful of ice cubes or, if you have one, a large ice cube. Stir together for 15 seconds, garnish your drink with an orange peel and enjoy! For more tips, including fun variations on the classic old-fashioned, read on!
