Article overviewX

A half up half down hairstyle is a creative way to blend your look. First grab the top of the hair and start just above the ears. From here you can pull your hair into a simple ponytail. Or make a smaller high ponytail for a more playful look. Alternatively, you can twist the top half of your hair into a messy bun. Use bobby pins and hairspray to hold your bun in place. If you have more time and want something special, split the top half of the hair in half. Then braid the French side each way until you reach the back of the head. Let the rest of the hair hang loose for a more voluminous look. For more tips from our beauty co-author, including how to create a half-up half-down braided halo, read on!
