1. Take your measurement from the top of the shoulder to just above the waist. The reason why the measurement is NOT at the waist is to compensate for how wide the belt is. Then you need to take the measurement for your width. Once you have made your measurements, transfer the measurements to paper and fold in half. Draw your design on half the sheet and then cut it out. (Fig. 1)
2. Once you fold up the paper, you should have a symmetrical paper template. Transfer it to EVA foam and cut out. This is your "base". (Fig. 2, Not of this building, but the same concept)
3. Use your heat gun to soften the foam and then curl your shoulders and even the waist so that it wraps around the person's body.
2nd After everything fits together well, glue the shoulders and sides.
3rd usually I would use the buckles to fasten the sides together, but I thought it would be very difficult because guys have these weird ribbed stuff that would make it hard to tighten. So we decided to go with a 2-piece zip down the middle of the back. (It is always best to place buckles / zips, etc. on the sides or back, since most pictures will be taken from your front) (Figure 3). You should now have your Vest Base
You now have the base for your vest. We decided to start with abs ..
1. Cut out the abs section with your paper template. We use a thinner EVA foam for abs. We used a dremel to bevel the edges.
2nd use your template to decide where the abs should go and mark with a sharp
3. use contact cement to glue the pieces in place (Fig. 4)
1. Guyver has this ball that looks in the waist. We made a decision whether it would be part of the vest or pelvis, but we chose to place it on the vest because of the practicality of wearing the suit.
2nd cut your ornament in half and take it to the strip grinder to get it symmetrical. The orb was painted at this time because it would be difficult to paint the latter.
3rd using it as a guide, I create a paper template for side details on the orb. (Fig. 5)
4. Then transferred the template to EVA foam. To create the angle, we drew a horizontal line over the back to create a channel. I filled the duct with hot glue and held it in place while it was glued cooled. (Fig. 6)
