How to grow newsletter subscribers



A newsletter is a great tool for you to use to engage, advertise or communicate with your readers about new developments, sales and many other topics. But if you do not have subscribers, no one will read it! Fortunately, you can use strategies to attract new subscribers to grow your email list and reach more people. You can also keep your current subscribers engaged so that they continue to read your newsletters and are more likely to share it with their friends and colleagues.

  1. Create a popup that prompts people to sign up for something. On a website or in paid ads, use a pop-up that asks people to join your newsletter mailing list to get a price, discount, free e-book or any other type of incentive. When entering their information to join the email list, send a welcome message containing information on how to receive the item or offer.[1]

    • People are much more likely to join your newsletter if they get something in return.

  2. Write a blog post and include an opt-in form for your newsletter at the end. If you do not have a blog for you or your business, you should start one! Use it to publish articles in longer form and as a secondary place for the content you place in your newsletter. Include a link so people can subscribe to your newsletter in your blog posts and place it at the end, when readers have completed the article and are more likely to join.[2]

  7. Just ask people for their email address so they feel safe. If people feel comfortable signing up for your newsletter, they are much more likely to do so and they can provide their personal information if it is optional.[7]

  1. Write articles that are polished and well-formatted. Make sure there are no spelling or grammatical errors before releasing your newsletter or that others may not want to subscribe to it.   5. Give your subscribers prices to refer to your newsletter. Include a link at the bottom of your newsletter that lets your subscribers share it with their friends so they can subscribe to it. Keep track of how many people they sign up for your newsletter and give them a price when they reach a certain number so that they have an incentive to do so.[12]

    • Just count on referrals that lead to actual subscribers so that people have additional incentives to get others to sign up for the newsletter and not just share the link blindly.
