About this article
To grow a pineapple, start by to cut the leafy crown from the top of a fresh pineapple. Then pull off some of the lower leaves to expose the stalk. Hang the crown up and down for about a week so that it dries and hardens. After a week, stick some toothpicks in the stem on the crown and use them to hang it over a large glass of water so that the stem is submerged but the leaves are not. Place the crown in a sunny window, wait a few weeks for the roots to grow out, and then plant the crown in a pot of soil!
