About this article
If you want to do ballet at home, make sure you find a room with soft floors and plenty of space for you to move around. Since you probably do not have a barre like a typical ballet studio, use a sofa or chair to support your weight. Before you start dancing, warm up and stretch so that you do not hurt yourself. When you’re ready, throw on some optimistic music and do some basic pliés by holding on to your barre and bending your knees in a squat. From that position you can run down from the ground to make a short jump or sauté and land in the plié position again. For more tips, such as developing a dance routine, read on!
