Giant Wood Hand Plane (which actually makes shavings!): 26 steps

Oh boy, this is a big one! 3x scale no.5 handplan built bit by bit to be almost identical to the original. It is about 3-1 / 2 meters long and 30lbs with a blade that is 6 inches wide and nearly 2 meters long by Zack Herberholz. The plane was made almost entirely of wood, including all visible screws and adjustment mechanisms. The bulk of it was actually scrap wood with the body made of maple slaughterers, the locking screws and the "brass screws" are made of scrap cherries, and the knob and handle are made of recycled white oak wood. I delivered this personally to Rockler at WorkbenchCon and it was actually the first time the magazine was installed in the plane. When we found a way to keep the workbench from moving, we could easily make some pretty stingy shavings reminiscent of tree bark.
