Before installing metal roofs, repair any damage to wood under shingles. Then cover the entire roof with an insulation layer and secure it with a staple. Then use 1 ¼ inch nails to secure a metal edge to the perimeter of the roof. Once you've done that, add your metal roof coatings, starting at the longest top to the roof point. Finally, you continue to install the panels, secure them to the housing with screws and make sure they overlap at least one inch.
