Article overviewX

To open a bottle of wine with a corkscrew, start by cutting off the foil with a knife. When the foil is gone, place the tip of the corkscrew in the center of the wine cork and slide it in slightly. If you are using a traditional corkscrew, screw it into the cap and slide the lever arm onto the lip of the bottle. Then push down the lever to release the cap. If you are using a wing corkscrew, turn the handle to screw in the cork and press down on the wings to remove it. For tips on how to open a wine bottle with a sommelier knife, read on!
